character

Apito

The Oak Mother · Blessed Oak Mother

Apito is Geyrun's mother, Taranis's wife, and a supposedly living goddess whose existing memorial crystal implies that something impossible has happened to her.

Story so far

Pater Coal identifies Apito as the blessed Oak Mother and says Emberus fears an unknown fate may have befallen her. She is both Geyrun's mother and Emberus's sister-in-law.

Divine memorial crystals form only when a god dies, yet another crawler holds a crystal created by Apito while she is officially alive. Carl must acquire it before investigating either linked item path.

Potsy's order prays to a stained-glass scene it interprets as Hellik revealing truth to Apito. The window's maker and common knowledge say the winged figure is actually her husband Taranis.

Donut's oak bracelet may connect to Apito by material or origin, but that relation remains a clue rather than proof.

Appearance

Not manifested; symbolized by an ancient sacred oak, a memorial crystal, and cracked stained glass beneath an inverted tree.

Role

Apito is the central apparent impossibility in Geyrun's murder and a likely link to Donut's bracelet.

Relationships

Geyrun — She is his mother.
Taranis — He is her husband and the figure in the disputed window.
Emberus — She is his sister-in-law, and he fears for her.
Apito's Memorial Crystal — Its existence contradicts her supposedly living status.
