Totem Summoning Rules

Summoning Duration Rules · Totem Reuse

Totems remain summoned for their card duration, return to the deck if they time out alive, and retain injuries and debuffs across later summons in the same combat.

Story so far

Playing a totem card manifests its monster for the printed summoning duration. A leader may deploy multiple totems at once if the opening or later hand contains them.

A totem killed during the encounter becomes knocked out and unusable for the remainder of that combat. If it survives until its timer expires, its card normally returns to the deck rather than entering the discard pile.

Health damage and debuffs do not clear between summons within one combat. Because overlapping aggro counts as a single session, entering a dense monster area can exhaust a squad's totems before the overall fight disengages.

Appearance

A summoned creature fading back into its card while retained wounds remain marked on the portrait.

Role

The rules make survival, duration manipulation, and careful aggro boundaries essential to reusing squad monsters.

Relationships

Time Extend — This utility doubles a totem's printed active duration.
T'Ghee Totem Cards — Their printed timers and health persist under these rules.
