Robert the Human

Gene

Robert is Donut's level-forty phase-two opponent, an elderly summoner whom Mongo kills before the intended tutorial fight develops.

Story so far

Robert materializes inside the great room of an older Miami house as Donut's first solo card-battle opponent. He is a hunched man around seventy years old in an undersized white sailor suit with a nametag reading Gene, though the interface names him Robert the Human.

He twitches and clutches a hand of cards while the battle pauses for a lengthy broadcast explanation. Once action begins, he summons Robert the Doll and Dog.

Donut calls Geraldo, but Mongo bypasses the totems and attacks Robert directly, killing him instantly. His summons vanish, and Donut claims his sailor hat before examining the card rewards.

Appearance

A twitching elderly man in a too-small white sailor suit, clutching cards inside an old house.

Role

Robert is the deliberately weak tutorial opponent whose sudden death demonstrates the vulnerability of a summoner.

Relationships

Princess Donut — He is assigned as her first solo opponent.
Mongo — Mongo kills him with a direct attack.
Robert the Doll — He summons the faceless doll card.
Dog — He summons the stuffed dog card.
