Toraline Root Vegetable

Toraline Root · Yam Thing · toraline-root

Toraline root is the versatile root vegetable at the center of a covert message from former Cookbook authors within Carl's sponsor network.

Story so far

Carl already knows of the yamlike ingredient but does not understand what his sponsors expect him to do with it. Rosetta constructs a message through a fake photo showing Milk and potatoes.

The words point him to sixth-edition author Milk, whose notes emphasize portals, mapmaking, and special ink recipes. Rosetta confirms the root-vegetable connection by agreeing that potatoes are very versatile.

Carl now has definitive evidence that one or more former Cookbook owners employed by the Open Intellect Pacifist Network consider toraline root crucial. Its precise intended application remains unresolved.

Appearance

A rough yamlike alien root whose cut flesh can be processed into unusual technical ink.

Role

Toraline root is an encoded technical objective linking sponsor assistance to Milk's Cookbook expertise.
