Story so far

Mordecai describes a vast AI near the galactic center that predates Syndicate society. It is the same general kind of intelligence that operates a crawl but is uniquely stable and has no personality.

Its benign enhancement zone extends over several solar systems holding much of the inner-system population. The Nebulars worship it and regard all attempts to reproduce it as sacrilege.
