Orren abruptly pulls Carl from the shelter memory into his closed Desperado Club office before the Residual can finish.

Story so far

As Goff begins revealing how to shut off an unspecified target, the memory flashes away. Carl and Orren arrive simultaneously in the liaison's old office inside the closed, actively rebuilding Desperado Club.

Orren says an immediate decision was required and that pulling Carl outside the dungeon would have taken several seconds too long. The public feed remains active, and the AI accepts the extraction under a pre-negotiated contingency. Orren claims another liaison might have killed Carl outright.

The extraction preserves Carl's life but separates him from both the critical speech and his looted storage bin, which Orren then threatens to seize.
