Story so far

Bernie is Rosemarie's fuzzy black-and-white mole creature. He rides on her shoulder throughout the emergency contract negotiation, staring at Carl, snuffling, and growling.

When Rosemarie and Damascus acknowledge that the protected club arrangement is ending, Bernie jumps to the ifrit's shoulder and head-butts him. He then returns to Rosemarie and gives a sad peep.
