Carl lights the purple curtains before leaving and waits outside for the memory trailer to burn before facing the keyholder.

Story so far

With one minute left in the observation period, Carl lights one of his father's cigarettes and returns past the motionless body.

He uses his lighter on the purple allium curtains and tells the ceiling that the intended psychological attack failed because the truth gave him closure.

Outside, the timer announces the keyholder can now be faced. Carl discards the stale cigarette, refuses to fight inside the cramped room, and decides to let the trailer burn first.

A window cracks and flames reach into the artificial sky while black smoke rises from the separate time instance.

Appearance
