Sister Ines Quiteria

Sister Ines · Last Rampart

Ines declares herself a demon-empowered protector, threatens the last stairwell, and offers to spiritually 'save' Carl while condemning Donut.

Story so far

Ines contacts Carl and Donut after the Capitol falls. She identifies the final door in Iglesia de Jesús de Miramar but says opening it will unleash ultimate catastrophe because unseen advisers have told her the surrounding hell is punishment for sin.

She claims every appearing demon increases her power and calls herself the last rampart. Ines offers to free Carl's soul through the same method she used on her sisters but excludes Donut as an animal.

Carl pretends willingness to meet at FOSCA while inferring that the Nebulars deliberately restored and amplified Ines's religious instability. Ines then demonstrates control over full-form pleasure demons and Amayon, threatening to destroy the church if Carl approaches the door.

Appearance

A feline nun surrounded by infernal servants, speaking through a colossal demon-snake while pointing toward a church.

Role

Ines becomes the principal intelligent obstacle to the last Cuban exit and a Nebular instrument against the Royal Court.

Relationships

The Nebulars — Carl believes her sponsor-patron deliberately reactivated her instability and power.
Amayon — She compels the demon prince to summon Carl.
Imani — Her minions enter the church where Imani waits.
Carl — She offers him salvation and threatens the exit to force a meeting.
