Residual Memory Speech

Goff's Breakfast Message · Backup Plan Speech

Goff's rehearsed daily address survives deep-cycle imaging and delivers forbidden Residual information through the memory simulation.

Story so far

Goff explains that mudskipper imaging revealed the likelihood of a memory floor. Residuals in large population centers therefore began speaking prepared messages every day so the future simulation might capture at least one.

The speech is a backup for direct dungeon contact. It is meant to survive only once the system AI becomes primal enough that automatic filtering no longer erases it, and it broadcasts meaningfully only with a crawler nearby. Goff describes Residual presence, embodiment, dungeon immunity, and ancestor-contact purpose.

Just as he begins explaining the internal war and a shutdown method, the world flashes and Carl is extracted. The public feed continues with the remaining recorded speech, but Carl loses the critical continuation.

Appearance

An elderly speaker at a shelter table while overlapping temporal images show the same speech repeated day after day.

Role

The speech uses the crawl's own memory technology to bypass normal suppression and reach both a crawler and mature AI.

Relationships

Paulie Goff — He performs the message every day before the collapse.
Carl — His presence activates the intended future reception.
System AI — Primal maturity prevents the content from being filtered out.
Desperado Club Extraction — The extraction cuts Carl off before the crucial clause.
