Carl's bargain to save Katia depended on appointing Odette as adjutant, but Odette independently enters the dungeon as Nekhebit.

Story so far

Huanxin promised assistance for Katia only if Carl arranged for Odette to accompany the Princess Posse as its Faction Wars adjutant. Carl kept the full stakes from Donut and entered the interview determined to secure Odette's offer.

Odette instead announces she anticipated a move against her and will enter the dungeon on equal footing as the independent goddess Nekhebit. She is physically joining the playing field, but not in the position Huanxin specified.

Carl recognizes he had no control over Odette's decision and hopes Huanxin will treat the divine entry as sufficient. He nevertheless has to appoint Baroness Victory, leaving Katia's promised rescue uncertain.
