Divine Battlefield Attention

Gods Notice the Toll

Sufficient battlefield death draws gods and demons into the conflict, sometimes as involuntary participants.

Story so far

Priestly's cookbook entry says enormous ninth-floor bloodshed can make the gods notice and enter the battle. Hell Comes to Crawler Town confirms that the mechanism operates inside the dungeon and may also have a counterpart outside it.

The Cuban seal-crab losses are large enough to raise forgotten gods, attract demons, and involuntarily summon divine figures from their halls. Some summoned gods behave outside their expected patterns. This attention normally centers on the battlefields outside Larracos, not the eighth floor.

Appearance

Distant colossal divine faces turning toward a tiny battlefield whose death toll glows like a beacon.

Role

The mechanic links mass casualty thresholds to direct supernatural intervention and Ascendency escalation.

Relationships

Seal-Crab War of Attrition — Its casualties cross the attention threshold early.
Larracos — The phenomenon normally occurs on battlefields outside the city.
Demon Eviction — Infernal attention manifests as overflowing Sheol and possession.
Priestly's Final-War Note — His firsthand account describes the expected ninth-floor version.
