Sheol Fire

An exceptionally destructive divine flame that instantly ruins ordinary materials and can melt rock into lava.

Story so far

The description of Carl's new Self-Immolation identifies its flame as Sheol Fire. Unlike ordinary fire, even momentary exposure is catastrophic: wood becomes ash, rock becomes lava, and flesh is destroyed.

Because the spell's sphere expands below the caster as well as outward, Sheol Fire can erase safe footing even when Carl survives the environmental heat that follows.

Appearance

Dense red-white flame eating through timber and turning stone into orange liquid.

Role

Sheol Fire supplies Self-Immolation's extreme damage and its terrain-altering risk.

Relationships

Self-Immolation — The spell creates a spherical burst of this fire.
Carl — His new heat protection does not prevent the initial direct-contact danger.
Emberus — The flame is granted through the god's worship system.
