Story so far

Birth Defect is an enchantment cast by the Enchanted Repeating Crossbow of the Scavenger Mother of Mothers, now in Katia Grim's hands. It triggers specifically against monster types that generate or birth additional monsters — a pointed counter on a floor overrun by self-replicating ghouls and their generators. Carl eyes it at once as a tool for the coming stand against the ghoul waves.

Appearance

A weapon-cast debilitating effect that lands on monsters capable of spawning more monsters.

Role

The vulture crossbow's anti-spawner enchantment, valuable against the floor's replicating ghouls.
