Vermillion Line

the Vermillion · Terminus Direct

A powered, wreckage-free 'Terminus Direct' rail line that runs its whole length in a day — the route to the trapped thousand at station 101.

Story so far

The Vermillion line is one of The Iron Tangle's colored lines, but a special one: a "Terminus Direct" that, per the gremlin Widget's hints, runs its entire length in about a day. Crucially it still has power and — because its ghoul-transport train never actually ran — no wreckage on the track. Hekla's Daughters commandeered that idle train (three passenger cars plus ghoul-cargo containers) and a second engine to run it in reverse.

It leads to station 101, where a thousand crawlers, including Li Jun's crew, are boxed in by mobs from two feeder platforms while a massive ghoul horde advances up the line; the nearest stairwell is 150 km away at station 72, itself guarded by a ghoul generator. It is the artery of Hekla's rescue plan.

Appearance
