Story so far
Long before Scolopendra's attack, while High Elf King Finian still sat the throne and his daughter Imogen served as his Sorcerer General, the High Elves attacked the Chee and took their land. Imogen cast a mass transfiguration over the people and then sent cleansers in to mop up the survivors. Only a few escaped.
Nadine was a Chee — a teacher in charge of the Chee day school, and before that an actress she would deny having been. She was turned into a Bearded Sage Caterpillar. Her schoolchildren were each turned into different creatures, except for six young boys who were all made into the same thing: the Were-Castors who now ride her as Signet's escort. The Chee were a peaceful people, but those six have lived every moment since in a constant state of struggle.
