Story so far

Claude is an enormous amphibious Eryops that entered Fort Freedom during a failed confederacy fundraiser and never left. Rooting in place gives his kind ten times their normal Constitution, and he attacks with eye-fired lightning and a long swallowing tongue.

When Carl recalls Samantha while she is biting him, Claude appears on the riverbank and spits out Samantha and Holger. He kills Nadine with lightning and swallows several victims before Carl's Protective Shell exposes his vulnerable belly. Fireball, missiles, explosives, and Mongo tear through him until he dies and bursts apart.

Appearance

A truck-sized green prehistoric amphibian with a flattened frog-alligator body, stubby legs, no neck, and a freshly severed tail.

Role

Claude is the hidden fortress trap and the chapter's borough boss.

Relationships

Samantha — She bites him inside the castle and is swallowed repeatedly before teleporting him.

Nadine — He kills her with a direct double lightning blast.

Mongo — Mongo dives into his belly wound and eats through his back.
