Imogen's black-clad personal guards gather against Signet but retreat because striking an invited guest would break the celestial seal.

Story so far

Multiple ordinary guards and several black-clad elite queen's guards appear at Ballroom A's entrance after Signet materializes. They watch the half-naiad from across the room, aware she is their monarch's principal enemy.

The guest-list protection overrides their orders and instincts. Unable to touch Signet without breaking the ritual and sending participants to the Nothing, they slink back into the hallway while she openly savors their helplessness.

Sleek black-clad high-elf guards watching from a ballroom threshold before withdrawing.

Role

Their retreat visibly confirms the seal protects Signet as strongly as every other guest.

Relationships

Queen Imogen — They serve as her personal force.
Signet — They want to confront her but cannot violate the seal.
