Story so far
Carl earned Insurgent when a trap he had seeded along the road past the Small Bugbear Settlement detonated and killed a hunter named JayGee. The system's congratulations were characteristically backhanded: the explosion was really cool, too bad he didn't get to see it, because he's a trap-leaving bitch. The reward was a Gold Trapmaster Box, which contained a pack of twenty trap add-ons called Fail Safes that notify him whenever a trap is disabled or set off.
The kill also confirmed something ominous — the hunters were already that far along the road and moving fast toward Point Mongo, possibly with vehicles.
