character

Chaco

Chaco the Bard

Chaco operates the prize counter, warns Carl the dungeon eventually forces every survivor to betray their party, and recommends Skedaddle for Donut.

Story so far

The muscular wolf-headed winged bard now wears fitted metal armor rather than his old game-show costume. He was born a skyfowl and once belonged to Mordecai's party.

Chaco still cannot explain the betrayal that made Mordecai hate him. He says the act saved Mordecai and his brother, regrets it daily, and warns that long survival always ends with the dungeon forcing companions to turn on one another. His emotional disclosure appears to trigger a system shock.

At the counter, Chaco identifies Donut's suitable escape music, processes Carl's 66 hands, explains future-floor boons, and confirms Imogen's Memorial Crystal must be offered as her most valuable item. He teleports out the moment the seal breaks.

Appearance

A muscular wolf-headed man with batlike wings and form-fitting metallic armor behind a glass prize carousel.

Role

Chaco combines reward administration, bard expertise, and a warning about the party betrayal Carl most fears.

Relationships

Mordecai — Their undisclosed forced betrayal drives Mordecai's murderous hatred.
Carl — He processes Carl's trophies and warns him about eventual isolation.
Princess Donut — He recommends Skedaddle for her current bard ability.
