Mushroom People

my mushroom guys

Donut's fungal retainers, left holding the town while their princess is off being interviewed.

Story so far

Princess Donut's first question on returning to the Saferoom is about the town and whether her mushroom guys are keeping everything safe — she asks after them the way a monarch asks after a garrison. Mordecai's answer is a broader status report: the Ursine are complaining but coming around on the Hunters, a pair of pale The Dream elves were beaten back, the picket defenses are going up, and another day should see the settlement self-sufficient.

The possessive is the point. The mushroom people are Donut's, part of the retinue she has assembled around herself, and their posting to the town is her contribution to holding it while she films.

Appearance

Fungal humanoids in Donut's service, treated by her as household staff and by everyone else as part of the town's defense.

Role

Donut's fungal retainers, garrisoning the settlement in her absence.

Relationships

Princess Donut — Their princess, who calls them her mushroom guys and checks on them first thing.
