Story so far
Quasar explains that Zerzura can move or preserve the changeling force through a ritual tied to Inpewt. The resulting Children are revenant beings rather than ordinary restored people.
Using the mechanism gives the coalition a way to field and transport forces beyond the sixth floor, but those transformed pay a serious metaphysical price. Their existence is inseparable from the risk built into Sledge's later mass-transfer plan.
