Hunter Casualty Windfall

Unprecedented hunter deaths destroy family and faction wealth while transferring much of the loss into Borant's hands.

Story so far

The normal hunter casualty rate averages about two percent. On this floor it exceeds twenty-five percent, and the count falls to 290 with ten hours remaining before the Masquerade. Mordecai and Zev have never seen comparable losses.

Unlike the Naga season, Borant is not simply hemorrhaging money. Families spend heavily on restricted weapons and armor to protect trapped relatives, and lost value flows into the production company. The Valtay partners show no dismay, while council members and liaisons fear the system instability.

Appearance

A financial graph showing hunter lives and family wealth collapsing while Borant revenue rises.

Role

The economics explain why production owners tolerate the AI crisis and sponsor escalation.

Relationships

Borant Corporation — The company captures much of the lost wealth.
The Valtay — The new partners remain unconcerned by the profitable chaos.
Mordecai — He contrasts it with earlier money-losing seasons.
Zev — She confirms Valtay satisfaction and institutional fear.
