A hunter of the Dream, squeezed to death by an ogre and looted of the map that exposes the hunters' carve-up.
Arwick is the first hunter of The Dream that Carl sees up close, and he arrives dead. Areson the Wise carries him into the clearing slung over one shoulder like a sack and dumps him at Carl's feet with an apology: Signet had said Carl wanted them alive, but the elf started to bleat, so the ogre had to smoosh him a little to de-bleat him, and then all the stuff came out. The system confirms it — Corpse of Hunter Arwick, killed by Elite Areson the Wise, The Dream.
Kneeling over the body, Carl finds him bald and startlingly pale, paler than the photograph of Epitome Noflex had led him to expect, with a quiver of unenchanted arrows but no bow, and a flowing enchanted robe that grants swift movement and a small constitution buff. Princess Donut rates his complexion as the shade of Miss Beatrice's thighs in December; Areson the Wise finds him a strange elf, very pale, and licks the blood off his own palm approvingly. Arwick's inventory holds exactly two things, transferred out through a blast chest for safety: an Arrow of Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea and, on the back of a Canadian diner's kids' menu, the The Hunter Territory Map — the single most valuable object Carl has taken off anyone on this floor. On that map Arwick had circled his group's lone target, Louis, hard enough to tear through the paper.
A tall, entirely bald elf with chalk-white skin, dead-eyed and limp, wearing a flowing enchanted robe and a quiver of plain arrows with no bow to be found.
A rank-and-file hunter of the Dream whose accidental death hands the crawlers proof that the hunters coordinate territory and share live crawler positions.
