Story so far
The arrow's poison inflicts Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea. It does not directly kill, but literally ignites the affected anatomy and continually heals it, creating ongoing agony.
The only cures are removal of the anatomy or transmission to another person. Carl rams the arrow into Vrah's exposed neck before her shield activates. As a future hive queen intended to birth a thousand nymphs, she is unlikely to geld herself, making the last male Dark Hive representative her probable target.

An otherwise ordinary arrow with a disease-coated tip.
Role
The arrow turns Vrah's escape and reproductive future into strategic pressure on her faction's final representative.
