character

Karime

Karime carries patient negotiation from fractured first contact to lawful resettlement choices and a non-exploitative university partnership.

Story so far

Karime discovered the polar settlement's existence while negotiating with divided main-site colonists, then helped Pin-Lee rebuild the colony's legal defense. Her work consistently treats the residents as decision-makers rather than a population to be moved.

After the charter is recognized, Karime joins Dr. Mensah and Thiago in negotiating resettlement with the main factions. She also supports the new talks between the separatists and university representatives, where research access must be leased from the people who own the planet. Her early patience with Bellagaia, Danis, Variset, and Corian has become the basis for voluntary evacuation rather than forced consolidation.

Appearance

An older adult woman, older than Mensah, with otherwise unspecified features and build, wearing clean practical university mission clothing.

Role

Karime is the sustained diplomatic bridge between colonist factions, Preservation, and the university.

Relationships

Pin-Lee — Pin-Lee and Karime turn incomplete history into the charter documents Barish-Estranza must recognize.
Dr. Mensah — Dr. Mensah works beside Karime to present genuinely voluntary resettlement options.
Lost Colony — The Lost Colony's divided residents trust Karime enough to continue negotiations after the crisis.
