The near-dead transit station and abandoned GrayCris terraform facility outside the Corporation Rim; Murderbot's target.
Milu, outside the Corporation Rim, comprises a small triangle-shaped transit station and, below it, GrayCris's abandoned terraforming facility. The station is eerily silent and half-dead: most businesses show closed/inactive notices, lighting is inadequate, cleaners no longer run, and a skeleton crew of station staff operates only minimal systems, with few active cameras and scanners tuned to environmental safety rather than intrusion. Marker-paint ads pop up in the dark halls.
GoodNightLander Independent has filed to reclaim the derelict and sent Don Abene's team, guarded by Wilken and Gerth, to make a first assessment. The terraforming facility itself sits behind a shield that blocks all off-site scanning, so nothing is known of its interior; it is held stable only by GI's tractor array, and no one has been inside since GrayCris left. The expedition plans a short twelve-hour first assessment.
The concealed Murderbot believes the facility hides proof that GrayCris used the terraform as cover for alien-remnant recovery.
A small triangle-shaped transit station, dim and half-finished, its plaza mall dark and mostly empty; below it an unseen terraforming facility masked by a scan-blocking shield and held together by a tractor array.
The mystery-box setting of the book: a dying station and sealed derelict facility Murderbot infiltrates to expose GrayCris.
