Lorn Au Arcos

the Rage Knight

The Rage Knight, an Olympic Knight of Family Arcos and third-greatest man on Mars, who drafts Darrow into House Mars.

Story so far

Lorn au Arcos is one of the twelve Olympic Knights and the third-greatest man on Mars, known as the Rage Knight, of the Family Arcos — one of the three families, with Bellona and Augustus, that dominate the planet. Rather than reach for political crowns, he chose to serve the Society by safeguarding its Compact. At the Institute's Draft he sits masked among the Drafters, old and broad with scarred thick hands bearing an Olympic Knight's signet ring, and becomes one of Darrow's two ardent advocates, pointing to him decisively so that he is chosen tenth of a thousand for House Mars — to Fitchner's grinning satisfaction.

Appearance

An old, broad, not-very-tall Gold, his thick hands scarred and wrinkled and bearing the signet ring of an Olympic Knight; face concealed by a golden ceremonial Drafter's mask.

Role

Olympic Knight and Arcos patriarch whose advocacy drafts Darrow into House Mars.

Relationships

Darrow — The recruit he champions in the Draft, securing his tenth pick into House Mars.
Society — The order he serves as an Olympic Knight, guarding its Compact rather than seeking power.
house-mars — The House he helps draft Darrow into.
