Golden Bough

Golden Bough faction · Golden Bough criminals

A pre-occupation criminal faction secretly bought a backdoor into Medina communications, leaving an access route the patriotic underground only now discovers.

Story so far

The Golden Bough is a criminal or factional organization operating on Medina Station before Laconia arrived. Eighteen months before the occupation, it bought a technical specialist and obtained a hidden backdoor into the station communications system. Official administrators and Saba's people failed to detect the compromise at the time.

A source now tells the Medina Underground about the access, apparently motivated by patriotism under occupation. The discovery confirms that Medina's official network contained deeper private layers than either the Transport Union or Laconian forces understand. What was built for factional or criminal advantage can now support resistance intelligence.

Appearance

A concealed organization known through bribed technicians, undocumented software access, private contacts, and a hidden communications backdoor rather than visible insignia.

Role

Golden Bough supplies an inherited covert access path that may help the underground work around Laconian control.
