Ontario

Coalition warship Ontario · EMC attack-group ship

A coalition warship is hit during the Tempest's high-speed rail counterattack and reports a reactor breach before dumping its core.

Story so far

The Ontario joins Independence and the dispersed Earth-Mars attack group confronting the Heart of the Tempest. It participates in the missile and rail volleys intended to test the Magnetar at range while preventing the unknown magnetic weapon from catching multiple ships.

The Tempest reveals rail rounds arriving thirty seconds earlier than coalition models predict. Ontario is hit hard enough to breach its reactor and begins dumping the core. Its final survival and crew status are not yet reported through the delayed battle feed, but the strike helps demonstrate the Laconian ship's superior fire-control prediction and deceptive projectile timing.

Appearance

A conventional Earth-Mars coalition warship in a widely dispersed attack formation; its specific class, hull, and crew are not described before the reactor strike.

Role

Ontario is a badly damaged member of the first attack group and evidence that coalition models underestimated Laconian rail fire.

Relationships

Heart of the Tempest — The Heart of the Tempest breaches its reactor with unexpectedly fast and accurate rail fire.
Independence — Independence fights in the same attack group before suffering total destruction.
