Lyria

Lyria of Lagalos · Mudbug · the witness · traitor

Finds peace and hope as the Sovereign kneels for her forgiveness—then is darted in her shower by a House Barca assassin, abducted for Victra's vengeance.

Story so far

With the children safe and Ephraim alive, Lyria watches from the Citadel and finds her hatred softening into pity for the broken thief. Holiday tells her Ephraim's story—Sons recruiter, Trigg's death, the man who could not die. In council, Mustang deduces the Ash Lord hired the Syndicate to strike her Senate before the peace vote, then astonishes everyone by kneeling before Lyria to beg forgiveness for the Republic's failure to protect her family.

Lyria, seeing the woman and mother beneath the Sovereign, lets go her anger and forgives her, agreeing to testify before the Senate on the condition that her nephew Liam be cared for and given back his eyesight. Granted a clean room and a shred of hope—Holiday even promising to bring Liam chocolate 'from her'—she showers, at peace for the first time in memory. Then a Brown woman in maid's shoes appears with a hypodermic gun: 'Hello, traitor.

House Barca sends their regards.' Darted, Lyria collapses, abducted by Victra's people even inside the Citadel.

Appearance

A small Gamma girl of eighteen, sun-darkened skin, mud-brown eyes and rust-red hair; washed and in borrowed clothes, arm in a sling, then naked and drugged, collapsing on wet shower tile.
