Beloved Obsidian hero and ArchWarden, a true believer in the law, killed by Darrow's blade during his arrest.
Wulfgar the Whitetooth was a favorite son of the Rising—an Obsidian who fought beside Ragnar at Agea, rode with the Sons of Ares that freed Darrow, and rose to ArchWarden of the Republic, believing in the law above any man. Sold as a child and raised a pit gladiator, he became a warrior of wild, hacking power and a bridge between the Obsidians and the Republic. When Mustang orders Darrow's arrest, Wulfgar comes to take him peacefully, pleading that no man is above the law and the People would find him innocent.
But the arrest turns to violence; he duels Darrow—the last student of Lorn au Arcos—and, as a stun round shoves him off balance into Darrow's thrust, is run through the mouth and killed. His death, that of a hero and symbol carrying Ragnar's legend, is a wound the Obsidians and the whole Republic will not forgive. Dead.
A gnarled, narrow 'tree root' of an Obsidian in his early forties, armored in pale blue with a sky-blue Warden cape, white hair flowing over his shoulders and a beard braided like Ragnar's, an angular raptor's face and crinkling black eyes.
ArchWarden of the Republic; the law-bound Obsidian hero whose accidental death at Darrow's hand detonates a political catastrophe.
