Chapter 46
  • Mongo is a pet-class Mongoliensis, a roughly seven-inch-tall pink-feathered chicken-dinosaur with tiny forearms, a serpentine tail, and sharp teeth, that Donut chooses from the pet reward room.
  • The Mongoliensis is a stubborn, hot-headed pet that can never truly be tamed, becomes powerful, fast, and vicious at level 15, and will immediately attack any mob it sees and fight to the death.
  • Carl frees Mongo from his cage using the Master Pen Key, and Donut names the male creature Mongo, though it repeatedly bites and snaps at her.
  • Mongo had not yet bonded with a crawler, and Carl warns he will teleport away if they enter Mordecai's room before the bonding occurs.
Chapter 47
  • Mongo is a dinosaur-like pet creature (described as a chicken-like Mongoliensis) won from the second-floor boss fight whom Donut must bond with.
  • He repeatedly bites Donut on the nose and constantly tries to bite Carl, and he can teleport away when frightened.
  • He is a pack hunter who learns to kill by example, mastering brindle grubs alongside Donut and ripping open the thorax of downed hornets.
  • As a pet-class mob he stays level one until bonded, then will level rapidly and become physically mature, fully grown at level 15 but able to grow stronger beyond that.
  • Donut officially bonds with and names him after he is endangered by a vespa, and his dot turns orange and his title becomes Royal Steed.
  • He is very food-motivated, loves pet biscuits, and learns dog commands including 'attack,' 'come,' 'lie down,' and a charge command that evolved into 'sic 'em.'
Chapter 48
  • Mongo is revealed to be a Mongoliensis, which translates to what humans called a velociraptor, explaining his pink feathers and beak.
  • Mongo is described as a common creature seeded across human worlds before humanity develops, beloved by human children.
  • Mongo bit off part of the production assistant Lexis's finger and destroyed a bow tie within seconds.
  • If kept alive and leveled up under Donut's control, Mongo will grow into a vicious full-grown fighter.
