Babababoon

Chaos-incarnate baboons with tiny-featured human faces and Florida-drunk-tank temperaments — doubly deranged when suffering the DTs.

Story so far

Babababoons are level-17 mobs — earth baboons crossed with 'the population from a Florida jail drunk tank' — with broad, fleshy human faces whose eyes, nose, and mouth are comically too small, wearing ripped novelty t-shirts and backwards caps. When Carl's party emerges from the station-283 saferoom, ~40 of them have overrun the transit station, suffering stage-two of the DTs (delirium tremens): withdrawal from the drug has doubled their strength, stripped their reason, and made them attack anything, teleporting away the instant they land a hit. Their PCP-like speed doesn't translate to precision, so Carl's upgraded Powerful Strike and Banger-Spheres, Katia-Grim's crushing grip, and Mongo shred them.

They're the first sign that once mobs go into withdrawal, the transit stations are no longer safe.

Appearance

Baboons with broad, fleshy, disconcertingly human faces bearing too-small features, bright-red rears, wearing ripped slogan t-shirts and backwards caps; frothing and chaotic, marked with red exclamation buff-icons when in the DTs.

Role

The floor's signature chaos-mob, unleashed on the transit stations once withdrawal sets in.

Relationships

Carl — Mows them down with Powerful Strike and Banger Spheres.
Rev-Up Vitamin Shots — The drug whose withdrawal (DTs) doubles their strength and madness.
Katia Grim — Grapples and crushes them in her super-tank form.
