Enchanted Mongoliensis Saddle

A garish tasseled fan-box saddle that turns Mongo into Donut's mount, buffing them both — once he tolerates it.

Story so far

The Enchanted Mongoliensis Saddle is Princess-Donut's Platinum fan-box prize: a blue-and-red, tassel-covered, parade-float-garish saddle that magically clicks onto Mongo and, being 'adjusted to fit Cat species,' lets Donut ride him. It grants the rider +15% offensive spell damage and Anti-Piercing Resistance, and gives Mongo +20% Constitution plus +20% melee damage while occupied. Mordecai rates it a genuinely good prize but warns Donut will be a vulnerable target perched up top and must practice leaping clear when Mongo attacks.

Having no straps, reins, or pommel-rigging, it's a mystery how she'll stay on or steer — and Mongo initially howls and bucks, trying to throw it off, so riding waits until he's trained to it.

Appearance

A garish blue-and-red saddle smothered in tassels — just a seat and pommel, no straps or reins — that clicks magically onto Mongo's feathered back.

Role

The gear that begins Donut's transformation into a mounted rider, pending Mongo's acceptance.

Relationships

Princess Donut — Her fan-box prize; makes Mongo her mount and buffs her spell damage.
Mongo — The dinosaur it saddles, buffing his Constitution and melee — once he stops trying to buck it off.
