Ceres Station

Ceres

Emptied and booby-trapped by the Free Navy, Ceres becomes a humanitarian crisis in the hands of the coalition that retakes it.

Story so far

Ceres Station was the Belt's political and logistical center under Anderson Dawes and the Free Navy. Before departing, Marco Inaros's forces strip its stores, reservoirs, defense grid, medical resources, sensor systems, and much of the infrastructure that made its six million residents sustainable.

The combined Earth-Mars fleet arrives expecting a battle and instead finds a station on the edge of environmental collapse. Soldiers, remaining Ceres staff, engineering unions, and OPA personnel jury-rig recycling and life-support systems while residents receive their new military visitors with a mixture of relief, grief, resentment, and bewilderment. Its worn port districts and idle docks remain a home, but nobody agrees what liberation now means.

Appearance

An old, densely tunneled spinning station with tired port bars, idle loading mechs, damaged systems, rebuilt corridors, docks, administrative levels close to its skin, and hydroponic gardens under emergency strain.

Role

Ceres is the coalition's first reclaimed foothold in the Belt and the humanitarian burden Marco deliberately leaves behind.

Relationships

[[Marco Inaros]] — His evacuation leaves it physically crippled and politically weaponized against whoever tries to save it.
[[Fred Johnson]] — Fred begins organizing OPA and coalition support from the station after its retaking.
[[James Holden]] — Holden sees its shaken civilians as the human reality obscured by war stories.
