Smith

Martian Prime Minister Smith · Prime Minister Smith

Mars's isolated prime minister faces a no-confidence removal while holding intelligence Avasarala urgently needs.

Story so far

Smith has helped build the combined coalition against the Free Navy, but on Luna he is politically isolated from Mars and privately demoralized by feeds calling him responsible for the Republic's military collapse. He receives notice that a no-confidence vote will force him from office that day, likely to be succeeded by Emily Richards.

Chrisjen Avasarala presses him to release Martian data about the missing Ring-transit ships and Winston Duarte before he loses authority. Smith responds with weary political fatalism, while Avasarala offers both pressure and the possibility of asylum.

Appearance

A mild-looking man in sand-colored slacks and a white collarless shirt with rolled sleeves, carrying a professionally warm smile over visible exhaustion.

Role

Smith is Mars's weakening civilian leader and a temporary gatekeeper to intelligence about the breakaway Martian conspiracy.
