A familiar Behemoth security regular who once brought coffee chooses Ashford, guards engineering to the end, and dies from Corin's pistol shot.
Garza served around the Behemoth security office before the catastrophe, remembered by Bull as the man who brought bulbs of coffee to whoever was stuck on duty. Bull regrets never learning more about him, especially after disaster should have driven command to check on each exhausted subordinate.
Garza joins the Ashford Loyalists and helps hold engineering while Sam is forced to modify the communications laser. During the resistance assault, most defenders surrender after the spine-cracker grenade and mixed assault force breach the transition. Garza alone keeps the long corridor between main engineering and the communications-array board under fire. Corin steps into the line and shoots him through the bridge of the nose. He dies as both enemy holdout and a former colleague whose unnoticed fears and loyalties embody Bull's failure to see the coup forming inside his own people.
Garza is an adult man who wears Behemoth security clothing and carries a long gun. His age, build, hair, complexion, and facial details are not otherwise described.
Garza is the final armed defender of captured engineering and a personal example of how familiar crew members became lethal loyalists under Bull's distracted command.
