Story so far
Hungry Eyes Village is the town at the first heat's finish line, where roughly a hundred converging tracks funnel into a single checkered arch flanked by empty metallic bleachers and waving spotlights. It hosts a bar where teams can hire up to three mercenaries per heat — Hedy warns the best were snatched while the party dawdled — and it was meant to host fan meet-and-greets in the stands, all cancelled by the quarantine save Elle's lone soother superfan. The eerie emptiness of its bleachers gives the finish a lonely feel.
