Jahns and Marnes's Canteens

The travelers’ shared canteens became evidence after poison in Marnes’s canteen killed Jahns.

Story so far

Jahns and Marnes shared water during their journey, exchanging canteens so he could carry what remained. Their packs made it easier to reach each other’s canteens than their own. Bernard Holland ordered refills during their visits to IT, including before they continued home.

Jahns drank poison from the canteen Marnes carried and recognized that it had been intended for him. A canteen connected with her death has been preserved in a reusable plastic evidence bag; the poison is established as having been in Marnes’s canteen.
