Jatismara dwarf on Juice Box's war council who remembers dozens of seasons and drained the flooded Piccadilly.
Arief introduces him twice over. Practically, the uncle drained The Piccadilly after the Flooding and found it filled with jellyfish, work that is still ongoing. Historically, he is one of the Jatismara — the memory-quickened — and remembers dozens of seasons of the Faction Wars, though not as many as Juice Box. Because of that memory he sits upon her war council.
When Britney asks whether the uncle remembers dying, Arief says no, and explains the awakened belief that for most of them death is now permanent, unlike the Outworlders. The uncle is the chapter's clearest example of what the Awakened NPCs gain and lose from remembering: institutional knowledge of the enemy, but no memory of their own ends.
Awakened dwarf war councilor whose recollection of past seasons informs the city's defense.
