Story so far
Everly carried a prayer mat bearing invisible etched words. Reflecting on how alone she chose to be, she counts her only companions in the dungeon as her hired NPCs — see Everly's Mercenaries — and "the invisible words etched on her prayer mat." The mat ties her to the religious side of Sward Mantis culture, where The Inevitable Ruin ends in begging God's forgiveness for not having sacrificed enough for the colony.
It is her one link to the faith and people she walked away from, kept even as she refused every offer of help from The Mantids.
