Story so far
With Florin demanding to know whether the alliance's NPC partners are now enemies, Carl answers that the alliance is still intact — at least on paper — and reasons that the system would automatically break it if the NPCs did something against them. He hedges the claim with 'I think.'
His confidence is thin. Juice Box has teleported away without warning, the War Mage Rebellion fled straight to her, and Justice Light is demanding the gate for reasons he will not explain. Carl privately rages that people keep making plans without communicating them and using him as part of those plans.
