character

Stockade

Commander Stockade

The late leader of the Democratic Sortion, whose crazed behavior before suicide Carl sees echoed in King Rust.

Story so far

Watching King Rust weep, mutter, shake his fists at the false sky, and press his hands to his own face in a caricature of a psychotic episode, Carl is reminded of Commander Stockade, the late leader of the Democratic Sortion. Stockade had been acting crazy like this too, right before he killed himself.

Carl briefly wonders whether Rust has been hit with some kind of insanity debuff, but decides it does not seem right. The truth turns out to be worse and simpler: the orc king already knows he is about to die.
