Dawson is a third-shift foreman who helped restore the digger, escaped through the tunnel, and now assists with removing the dead.
Dawson became the new third-shift foreman and gave Juliette water after she emerged from the crowd at the opening. He found and opened a door at the back of the buried machine, then suggested sealing it again when its missing power plant was discovered. Instead, his team separated the backup generator’s exhaust coupling, and Juliette put him in charge of fitting the generator to the digger.
Juliette remembers Dawson among those who escaped through the dig, and he later joined the people at the tunnel excavation. As preparations continue, he helps handle a body bag, coughing as though about to gag.
Dawson is in his late thirties but looks older from night work. His large, knotted hands bear injuries from work and fighting.
