Story so far
When Juliette found the children, their young mother said their parents were dead. Juliette estimated that she was no more than fifteen. Initially shielding her infant from offered help, she eventually showed the baby to Juliette. Introduced earlier as Helena, she did not know her age; later she is called Hannah. She helped teach Elise about God and night prayers and ensured that Elise could read better than Miles.
As the digger approached their home, Hannah warned the twins away from the wall and rocked her child while watching the machine break through. She later carried the crying infant and tried to soothe it. Jimmy understood her to fear receiving the hip implant her mother had had. Hannah refused an implant because she did not want to be cut, but allowed the doctor to examine her baby. Juliette's father subsequently reported her safe after the confrontation. Hannah later claimed that pills grow inside girls late, like adult teeth, making early childbearing important; this was her account of the process.
Breastfeeding left Hannah hungry, and she worried when Solo went after Elise among the newcomers. She did not want to fight them, though she expected fighting because she and Rickson were no longer children. She helped dismantle servers for the meeting space, assisted Juliette with Town Hall preparations, and checked routes on the schematics. She also told Juliette about the deaths of Elise's mother and twin sister. Having carried her child against her chest inside her suit, Hannah now nurses the infant while sitting beside Rickson on a plastic bin.
