Marcus

Marcus was Miles’s twin brother; he died after going over the rails during a confrontation with an angry crowd.

Story so far

Marcus and his twin Miles were together as the digging approached, with Marcus excitedly pulling his brother back from the wall. He later claimed to have seen a fairy and to have lost twenty teeth, all replaced except the one Miles knocked out. Elise remembered the twins wanting to keep a rat as a pet even when others were hungry.

During the confrontation with an angry crowd, Marcus went over the rails and died. Juliette’s father expressed regret and blamed himself, while Miles felt that things were wrong without his brother. Juliette’s father later explicitly identified Marcus and Miles as twins.
