Story so far

The Altitude-Based Deployment Device is the egg-shaped, garbage-can-sized canister the Gnomish Drop Bear drops on Carl's party — designed to pop open at altitude and unleash a live boss like the Feral Goose. This one is so rusted it never opens, splattering its boss instead and landing as a dented dud marked "This Item is Broken." Intrigued by its altitude-fuse dial mechanism, Carl pockets the whole shell for study.
