Story so far

During an earlier coordinated raid, Carl unknowingly kills a hunter who worships Emberus. The god immediately removes Carl's fifteen-percent Strength boon, applies Penitence for fifteen hours, and doubles his tithing obligation for thirty hours.

The visible word Shunned floats above Carl, delighting his allies. Killing two more Emberus followers during the probation would trigger a smite. Although the initial period ends before the next raid, Carl still avoids direct credit when Li Na spots another potentially divine-affiliated rifleman.
