Toraline
The remaining yam-like vegetable once used to separate Maggie from Chris must be preserved for an unspecified future need.
Story so far
Benefactors supplied toraline on the previous floor to help save Chris. More than half was consumed in the potion that removed Maggie from his mind, leaving a limited remainder in Carl's inventory.
The visible text attached to Pawna's Cries says only, “Save the toraline.” The restriction implies it will be needed for the coming divine or Masquerade operation, but P. Hu cannot explain openly under benefactor-note rules.
Appearance
A yam-like alien vegetable, partly consumed and carefully stored.
Role
Toraline becomes a protected future ingredient whose purpose remains concealed.
Relationships
Carl — He holds the remaining portion and receives orders not to spend it.
Chris — Most of the original vegetable helped create the potion that freed him from Maggie.
P. Hu — The benefactor explicitly tells Carl to save it.
